Desde el 19 al 22 de junio La Hacienda Links Golf Resort y el Hotel Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol serán escenario del Gasol Foundation Golf Invitational, un evento que recaudará fondos para prevenir la obesidad infantil.
Hay figuras internacionales que trascienden el éxito del deporte y lo convierten en un motor de cambio social. Pau Gasol es uno de ellos. Con una trayectoria impecable en el baloncesto, ha sabido utilizar su influencia para impulsar iniciativas clave para la
prevención de enfermedades infantiles.
Ahora, su compromiso se materializa en la celebración del Gasol Foundation Golf Invitational, un torneo de golf amateur que nace con un único objetivo: recaudar fondos para prevenir la obesidad infantil, dando así visibilidad a uno de los mayores desafíos a los que se enfrenta la salud pública en la actualidad.
En un entorno incomparable, el torneo se celebrará en La Hacienda Links Golf Resort y en el Hotel Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol, uno de los resorts más exclusivos de España y
Europa que cuenta con unos magníficos campos de golf. Será del 19 al 22 de junio cuando estrellas del deporte como Rafa Nadal, Rudy Fernández, Álvaro Morata, Bernd Schuster o Marcos Alonso junto a un nutrido grupo de jugadores profesionales de golf como
Álvaro Quirós y Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño se unan por esta bonita causa.
Un evento que no solo realzará los valores del deporte, sino que reforzará la misión de la Gasol Foundation Europa, dedicada a combatir la obesidad infantil y promover hábitos saludables desde la infancia: “Durante más de una década, en la Gasol Foundation hemos trabajado para mejorar el bienestar de niños/as y familias en situación de vulnerabilidad, y este torneo será una oportunidad única para crear conciencia, sumar apoyos y disfrutar del golf en un entorno excepcional”,
declaraba el propio Pau Gasol.
Con el apoyo fundamental de instituciones como la Junta de Andalucía -a través de la Consejería de Cultura y Deporte- además de los Ayuntamientos de La Línea de la Concepción y San Roque, se desarrollará a lo largo de dos jornadas en los espectaculares campos de La Hacienda Links Golf Resort, recorrido Links y recorrido Heathland.
Además, los participantes se alojarán en el Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol.
Será en San Roque, a un paso de Sotogrande, donde Gasol cumplirá un sueño fusionando sus dos pasiones -el golf y la labor de su Fundación- con este
torneo solidario. From 19 to 22 June La Hacienda Links Golf Resort and Hotel Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol will be the scene of the GASOL FOUNDATION GOLF INVITATIONAL, an event that will raise funds to help prevent childhood obesity
There are international figures who go beyond sporting success and make it a driver of social change. Pau Gasol is one of them. With an impeccable track record in basketball, he has been able to use his influence to promote key initiatives for the prevention of childhood diseases.

Now, his dedication has materialised into the Gasol Foundation Golf Invitational, an amateur golf tournament set up with a single goal: to raise funds to help prevent childhood obesity, shining a light on one of today’s biggest public health challenges.
In an unparalleled setting, the tournament will be held at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort and Hotel Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol, one of Spain’s and Europe’s most exclusive resorts and home to some magnificent golf courses. From 19 to 22 June, sports stars like Rafa Nadal, Rudy Fernández, Álvaro Morata, Bernd Schuster and Marcos Alonso, along with a large contingent of professional golfers like Álvaro Quirós and Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño, will come together in aid of this cause.
An event that will not only highlight the values of the sport, but also reinforce the Gasol Foundation Europa’s mission to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy habits from a young age: ‘For more than a decade, at the Gasol Foundation we’ve worked to improve the well-being of children and families in vulnerable situations, and this tournament will be a unique opportunity to raise awareness, drum up support and enjoy golf in an exceptional setting.’ Pau Gasol himself said.
With the essential support of institutions such as the Regional Government of Andalusia—through the Ministry of Culture and Sport—as well as the municipalities of La Línea de la Concepción and San Roque, it will take place over two days on the spectacular courses of the La Hacienda Links Golf Resort: the Links Course and the Heathland Course. The participants will stay at the Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol.
So it will be in San Roque, a stone’s throw from Sotogrande, where Gasol will fulfil a dream by combining his two passions – golf and the work of his foundation – with this charity tournament.
