San Roque es todo un referente turístico internacional gracias a sus magníficos campos de golf, sus aclamadas canchas de polo y su exclusiva zona residencial de Sotogrande, lugar de discreto veraneo de multitud de celebridades europeas y españolas. Pero también cuenta con playas para todos los gustos, bosques donde recargar las pilas y una rica gastronomía donde caben los platos más andaluces y los bocados más exóticos.
Los sanroqueños se muestran orgullosos del yacimiento arqueológico de la ciudad púnico-romana de Carteia, pero también de su histórica Plaza de Toros, una de las más antiguas de Andalucía, así como de su Conjunto Histórico Artístico, declarado en 1975 Conjunto Monumental Histórico-Artístico.
San Roque cuenta con numerosos atractivos de turismo cultural y gastronómico, y entre ellos cuenta con espacios museísticos integrados en la Red Andaluza, como los museos Carteia y Ortega Brú, y otros atractivos como la Plaza de Toros, el Pinar del Rey, o el Yacimiento Arqueológico de Carteia.
La Semana Santa, declarada de Interés Turístico Nacional de Andalucía, el Belén Viviente, la Noche Blanca, o la Bienal de Flamenco Canela de San Roque, son sólo algunas de las muchas actividades que ofrece el municipio a lo largo del año.
En verano, cobran especial relevancia las nueve Ferias que se celebran en las distintas barriadas, en especial la Feria Real de San Roque, en agosto, que culmina con el Toro del Aguardiente.
Con 15 kilómetros de playas entre la Costa del Sol y el Estrecho de Gibraltar, las mediterráneas de Cala Sardina, Torreguadiaro, Playa Puerto Sotogrande y Alcaidesa-Torrecarbonera han vuelto a ser reconocidas en 2026 con cuatro banderas azules. Sin embargo, el municipio cuenta también con otras playas destacables, como la salvaje Borondo, o las ubicadas en la Bahía de Algeciras, muy frecuentadas por la población local.
San Roque cuenta con nueve campos de golf, de los que tres se han incluido en el ranking de los 50 mejores de Europa, una clasificación que encabeza el Real Club de Golf Valderrama. Sus instalaciones acogen a la élite del golf mundial en torneos como la Ryder Cup o las más recientes ediciones del Andalucía Masters y Live Golf.
En Santa María Polo Club y Ayala Polo Club, mientras, se disputa cada verano uno de los cuatro torneos del Grand Slam, en los que juega la élite de este deporte.
Puerto Sotogrande, mientras, es un espacio idílico que ha renovado este año su bandera azul. Un lugar por el que pasearse o tomar un aperitivo contemplando veleros y yates de ensueño, que atracan en este lugar al borde del Estrecho.
Los amantes de la naturaleza pueden disfrutar en San Roque de unos parajes de ensueño. El Pinar del Rey, de casi 340 hectáreas, es el espacio natural y lugar de recreo preferido por los campogibraltareños. Recientemente ha sido incluido en el Parque Natural de los Alcornocales y está considerado como Centro Azul, ya que dispone de la Bandera Azul, y la Bandera Sendero Azul por el sendero del Arroyo de la Alhaja, dentro del Pinar del Rey.

The rich sporting, beach, environmental, cultural and culinary offering of the municipality of San Roque can be enjoyed in all its glory for the twelve months of the year.
San Roque’s main tourist attractions are its 9 golf courses, 11 polo fields, competitive sailing, residential tourism, beaches, guided tours, Pinar del Rey, Finca La Alcaidesa, its rural and adventure tourism offering, the cuisine of its historic centre and neighbourhoods and more.
San Roque is internationally renowned for its magnificent golf courses, acclaimed polo fields and exclusive residential area of Sotogrande, the discreet summer retreat of a great many Spanish and European celebrities. But it also has beaches for all tastes, forests in which to recharge the batteries, and a rich cuisine that includes the most Andalusian dishes and the most exotic morsels.
Sanroqueños are proud of the archaeological site of the Punic-Roman city of Carteia, but also its historic bullring, one of the oldest in Andalusia, as well as its status as an Artistic-Historical Monument Complex granted in 1975.
San Roque offers many cultural and culinary tourist attractions, including museum spaces that are part of the Andalusian Network such as the Carteia and Ortega Brú museums, and other attractions like bullring, Pinar del Rey and the Carteia Archaeological Site.
Holy Week, declared an event of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia, the Belén Viviente, the Noche Blanca and the Canela de San Roque Flamenco Biennial are just some of the many activities that the municipality offers throughout the year.
In summer, the nine fairs held in the various districts come into their own, especially the Feria Real de San Roque, in August, which culminates with the Toro del Aguardiente bull-running event.

Nature lovers can enjoy some heavenly scenic spots in San Roque. Pinar del Rey, spanning almost 340 hectares, is the preferred natural and recreational space of the locals. It was recently included in the Los Alcornocales Nature Reserve and is considered a Blue Centre, since it has the Blue Flag and the Blue Trail Flag for its Arroyo de la Alhaja trail, within Pinar del Rey.
San Roque’s hotel offering has a very attractive duality: The municipality’s select hotels are mainly five or four-star establishments, complemented by hostels and holiday apartments.
